HIMI
HORIKOSHI
Acupuncturist and Shiatsu massage therapist
My name is Himi Horikoshi. I love what I do. Before I became acupuncturist, I studied Psychology at University in Japan. I also trained in Aikido (Martial Arts), which I practised for 13 years. I’m an active and social person who loves people. I’m passionate about helping people with attaining healthy and happy lives.

After graduation I worked at Psychiatric Hospital as a case worker. I noticed that many patients had physical problems alongside mental issues. I quickly realised that I wanted to help my patients through touch, not just talk. I also wanted to focus on natural remedies. That’s where I found my true calling.
I enrolled in a prestigious acupuncture school in Sendai, Japan, where I studied acupuncture, shiatsu and moxibustion for 3 years. I received National Qualification in 2001 and I have practiced my craft ever since both in Japan and New Zealand.

Seeing my patients smile after our session makes me the happiest.
I aim for my treatments to provide long term relief. Many of my clients say that they still feel fantastic the next day. Massage is like exercise, so I recommend you have a drink of water afterwards, and if you can, not to eat immediately before or after.
"My hands are detectives, seeking out the aches, pains and stiffness in your muscles. I find great satisfaction in helping my clients feel relaxed and revitalised."
